Description
This half-day tour with a local Tibetan offers you with a unique opportunity to learn about Tibetan culture and the history with the visit to one of four Tibetan refugees settlements in Pokhara. You can also witness the fabrication of traditional crafts by the refugees. A visit to a Tibetan monastery is included in the tour, where you can learn about Tibetan Buddhism and, if interested, participate in prayer rituals. This tour offers you a unique opportunity to interact with the Tibetan population and gain an understanding of their way of life. Plus, you will have lunch with a Tibetan family of the area.
Itinerary
Pickup from the hotel and transfer to the Tibetan Refugee Camp in Chhorepatan. Meet with your local Tibetan guide, Mr. Tsering Wangdu, who lives in one of the houses of the settlement. Discovery of Tibetan history and culture by interacting with the locals. Visit of a nearby Buddhist monastery to discover about rituals and iconography of Tibetan Buddhism. Lunch at a local residence for an authentic, memorable experience before departing to the hotel.
